1. Setting up for Success: Outdoor Learning Routines in Nearby Nature, K-3
Summer is precious, so we will squeeze a lot of ideas into a short and sweet afternoon session. Targeted to Primary and ECE teachers, we will dive into the numerous benefits of outdoor learning, such as building student engagement, promoting physical health, inspiring inquiry, and fostering a love for nature. Together, we will share ways to build routines within a cohesive outdoor learning community, empowering students to grow socially, emotionally, and intellectually. We will also talk about using local parks and natural areas as spaces for learning. You will walk away with practical ideas to enhance your outdoor teaching practice this coming school year.

2. Squirrelling Away Knowledge: Outdoor Learning in Fall, K-3
Embracing the squirrel's industrious spirit, this 1.5 hour workshop will fill you with ideas to immediately put into place for the fall season. This session is designed to equip you with knowledge and tools to seamlessly integrate the vibrant colours and seasonal richness of autumn into the Primary curriculum, with a special focus on literacy (with ideas for the revised language arts curriculum), art, mathematics, and science disciplines. You will take away prompts and experiences that you can easily integrate, even the next school day! Join us as we learn from our busy squirrel friends and use the season of harvest as a springboard for immersive and holistic outdoor learning.

3. Flourishing in the Frost: Outdoor Learning in Winter, K-3
From fostering student engagement in frosty landscapes to nurturing resilience in the face of adversity, you will leave this workshop with a renewed appreciation for winter’s educational potential and a toolkit for winter outdoor learning ideas. In this 1.5-hour workshop, you will dive into the dynamic field of outdoor learning during the colder months, with a special focus on the resilient symbol of winter – the chickadee. This session will equip you with practical strategies and resources to create enriching outdoor learning experiences in the chilly months. Join us to transform your perception of winter into a powerful teaching tool that resonates with the tenacity and resilience of our feathered friend, the chickadee.
