Wednesday, August 30th, 1:00-3:30pm
Huron Natural Area, Kitchener
Summer is precious, so we will squeeze a lot of ideas into a short and sweet afternoon session. Targeted to Primary and ECE teachers, we will dive into the numerous benefits of outdoor learning, such as building student engagement, promoting physical health, inspiring inquiry, and fostering a love for nature. Together, we will share ways to build routines within a cohesive outdoor learning community, empowering students to grow socially, emotionally, and intellectually. We will also talk about using local parks and natural areas as spaces for learning, and things to consider before you begin. You will walk away with practical ideas to enhance your outdoor teaching practice this coming school year.
